    LaSuria Kandi Allman interviews Detroit Producer Jimmy The Icon Ceo of Pipeline Entertainment.


    Jimmy was born and raised in Detroit City. He has an entertainment career which expands over 20 years. He has performed on stages and in concerts with artist such as Juvenile, Jeezy, Juicy J, Trina, Ruff Ryders, cash money and many more..... His humanitarian credits include several Stop The Violence events, which is his own non profit organization.

    Stop the Violence was established to give back to the community an  promote positivite. Jimmy the Icon is a dedicated philanthropist who has sponsored several events such as an annual Thanksgiving and back to school give away. His talents are not limited to just music.






    His artistry airs in many forms including acting. Jimmy the Icon has been featured in several independent films such as Middleman, Snakes, Winners as well the host of an upcoming television show "Street 16" airing soon. With 2 projects available for download "Making the Bandz" &"Identity" Jimmy the Icon is set to release his 3rd project "Topside" at the top of the year. This outstanding powerhouse boss MC is out to solidify his name in hip hop and its been along time coming.

    Jimmy.   Struggling and hardship
    Tell me some things about yourself? 
    I am a collection of things, I am laid back.
    Tell me about your show Street 16.
    My partner Clockwise and I interview local artists.
    What inspired you to become a music and film Producer?
    I love music, my uncle sung with The Enchantments
    Who was the first artist you collaborated with?
    Juvenile
    Do you think the music has changed from then to now?
    Definitely,  they are using auto tunes. The subject matter has changed.
    How would you categorize your style?
    I am a combination of both Hip hop and Rap.
    What if any message do you try to relay to the audience?
    Main message Perseverance
    What would you change about the music industry from an executive stand point?
    A lot of the auto tuning, the style and dress, they are taking away the masculinity.
    What do you think attributed to the change from consciousness of the early 80's to the gangster era of today?
    I think the wrong European was put in the position of power.
    What are your thoughts about the way the artists are presenting themselves?
    Disappointed
    What would you consider to be the big break that will get the artists foot in the door mainstream?
    You have to sell they souls or dumb down your music.
    How long have you been a Producer?
    20 yrs
    What are your goals for the future?
    2 yrs fall back, obtain me a couple of artists to invest in. Directing and producing movies
    Do you have any shows/album/videos coming up?
    December 13, show with Future.   The movie "Snake" December 14, Star theaters. Street 16 in January. Identity chapter 2 January 4.
    Are there any artists that you would like to collaborate with?
    Definitely Jay Z, Kool G Rap, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, T.I., Some Detroit artists.

    No
    Are there any youth or community programs that you are involved in?

    Are there any challenges that you have dealt with and you have  overcame?
    The death of my mother.
    Are you interested in making movies?
    Yes
     Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
    Retired, traveling the world
    What advice would you give to young men today who are suffering from injustices?
    Educate yourself.
    What advice do you give to aspiring artists who are trying to get into the music industry?
     Cross your T's and dot your I 's. Educate yourself. Get a Publicist, go independent, build a relationship with your local DJ. Build your social media site up.
    What do you think about the legalization of Marijuana?
    I love it
