    Hello, thank you for visiting my blog where LaSuria Kandi Allman continues to put interesting people In the Hot Seat. Today she interviews radio personality, Ikeisha Baker.

    Ikeisha Baker was born and raised in Detroit; MI. She has 2 boys that she loves dearly. Ikeisha attended Northwestern High School where she took up Radio Television for 3 years. After leaving Northwestern High she went to National Institution of Technology twice for Computers and Electronics, she decided that was not for her.
     After enrolling into Specs Howard twice, and hopping job to job she decided to go back, and re-enrolled into Specs Howard for the third time in August 2009. Finally her career takes off, and she has not turned back. In January 2010 Ikeisha started off as an intern at Radio One Detroit. She grinds so hard that Radio One offered her a permanent position as a Promotion Assistance in October 2010 after proving herself as an intern.
     Ikeisha started working for three different departments at Radio One as a Receptionist, Board Operator, and On-Air Personality in the Programming Department, and Promotion. Ms. Baker have done Voice Over spots for McDonalds, Jimmy Johns, Mega Millions, Sister to Sister hair care product, Jay Villa Day, Chamberlin and many more companies. You can catch her on U Know Cell show every Saturday at 9:30am with Making Your Weekend Hotter on the All New Hot1075. Ikeisha also has her on show Hot in The Streets Live on Hot 1075 every Friday at 2am. Ikeisha received 3 Peer Recognition Awards, and 2 Spirits Awards for her dedication and hard work as a team player. After graduating from Specs Howard, she hosted the 2011 Dr. Martin Luther King 26 Annual Peace Walk with Mayor Brenda L. Lawrence and Judge Shelia Johnson from the 46th District Court.
     December 2012 Ikeisha Baker received her Associated Arts Degree from Rochester College in Michigan, and now she is pursuing her Bachelor Degree in Mass Communication.
     Ikeisha Baker does event planning, hosted parties, educated artists etc. She has interview Celebrities artists such as Silkk The Shocker, Tone Trump, Pesh Ceo of Live Mix Tapes, Stalley, Duffle Bag Boy, YoYo and many more. Ikeisha has interviewed a lot of upcoming local artists as well…such as Pablo SkyWalkin, Moe Dirdee, Brooklyn Fisher, Fool Boy Marley, Vezzo, Team Eastside, Big Gov, Helluva, Detroit Che, Trigg The Kidd, Cirroc, and many more. Ms. Ikeisha Baker put together 4 major events in the city, Rickey Smiley Skating Party, Wiz Khalifa Bowling Party, Praise Comedy Show, Mindless Behavior Skating Party and many more events.
     She is in the movie “Loud Pack”, and in the sitcom “Before We Were Men” that will be air on TV20, and in Big Sean “Guap” video. Starring Mar 2013 she started throwing showcases at The Majestic, The Detroit Pub, and Hazel Place where she showcases upcoming artists. Ikeisha was also a judged for The Detroit Tigers National Anthem Contest and she also judged Imported from the D for a year in 2014 and was in the stage play “The Ultimated”. In 2015 she was nominated an awarded and a Presenter for the 1st Annual Detroit Hip Hop Awards. In January 2015 she also partner up with Carol Dorsey from Madd Money Entertainment “Talking Music Biz and Radio with Carol Dorsey and Ikeisha Baker” No matter how young you are no matter how old you get, never give up on your hopes and dreams.

      My childhood was good

     I am me all the time
     How long have you been doing radio?
    5 years
    What inspired you to become a Radio personality?
    My son

     Silk da shocker, YoYo, the list goes on
    Tell us about some of the awards you have received?
     Underground Hip hop award show tonight at St. Andrews. I have been nominated for several awards and I am a presenter.
    Do you think the music has changed from then to now?
    Absolutely
    How would you categorize your style of reporting and doing interviews?  
    Ad Lib, Underground music
    What if any message do you try to relay to your audience.
     Good success, family, stay focus
    What would you change about the music industry from an executive stand point?
    Followers.
    What do you think attributed to the change from consciousness of the early 80's to the gangster era of today?
     They grind back in the days out of their trunks.
    What are your thoughts about the way the artists are representing themselves?
     Some artist take away from other artists
    Tell me what do you think about the way they are dressing the skirts and blouses?
     Focus on you
    What would you consider to be the big break that will get the artists foot in the door mainstream?
     Have that hit banger
     What are your goals for the future?

     It is a lot artists that I would love to work with.

    John Hollywood had a fundraiser for Central High school Girls Basketball team.
    Are there any challenges that you have dealt with and you have  overcame?
     Yeah, dealing with people is a challenge

    What advice would you give to young men today who are suffering from injustices?
    Stay positive
    What advice do you give to aspiring artists who are trying to get into the music industry?
     Be on time
    What keeps you motivated, what drives you?
    Me, myself and I
    If you could change your profession what would it be?
    Management.
      What are your thoughts about the legalization of Marijuana?
     I don't care if they legalize or not.
     If you could speak to the youth of today about the importance of obtaining a good education what would you say?
    Streets is not where it is at.
