    Let's join LaSuria Kandi Allman as we start the new year with Page1.
    Detroit's Hip Hop artist Page 1 (Star Morrish)started his rap career with the group he founded Detromental, short for Detroit mentality in 1998.

    Detromental had music on Spike T.V., DVD’s, and a Christmas compilation. Page went solo after one of his group members(Magnum) broke his neck in 2004. 
    His first solo LP,“True Hood Stories” distributed by CDBaby(Super-D) released in 2007. The track “Fallen” off the LP was featured on In the shadow of an icon released on Thug Life Army/ Universal music group 1998.
    Shortly after its release, Page1 was sentenced to 40 months in a Federal prison. Released in 2010, Page1 got right back in the studio recording his second Lp. (Enagement) date TBA. 
    Page1 appeared in the movie M, and has opened up for C-murder 2001 at Club Hustle town in Houston, Texas. Page1 influences while growing up were: Run-Dmc, LL Cool j, Ice-T, N.W.A, Eric B. and Rakim.

    So, Page1, tell us, what was it like growing up in Detroit?
    Wow, it was like a movie
    Tell me some things about yourself?
     I'm  laid back
    Tell us about your group?
    Detromental
    Tell me about your latest release?
    True hood stories, 7th sign
    What inspired you to become a artist?
    Different type of music  that makes you dance.
    Who was the first artist you collaborated with?
     Killah Smooth
     Do you think the music has changed from then to now?
    Most definitely, back in the day music had messages.
    How would you categorize your style?
     My style gangster
    What if any message do you try to relay to the audience?
    Life experiences, something everyone can relate to.
    What would you change about the music industry from an executive stand point?
     The Internet it's a blessing and curse.
    What do you think attributed to the change from consciousness of the early 80's to the gangster era of today?
    I really don't think they are gangsters. These mainstream artist are not gangsters.
    What are your thoughts about the way the artists are representing themselves?
    They are not genuine, tight clothes lol.
    Tell me what do you think about the way they are dressing the skirts and blouses?
    They are leading the youth in the wrong direction
    What would you consider to be the big break that will get the artists foot in the door mainstream?
    Exposure
    How long have you been in the music industry?
    Since 98
    What are your goals for the future?
    Starting a management company.
    Do you have any shows/album/videos releases coming up?
     Submit my singles for soundtracks
    Are there any artists that you would like to collaborate with?
    B-legit, Nipsey Hustle,

    My organization caters to our people.
    Are there any challenges that you have dealt with and you have  overcame?
    So many I was run over and robbed.
    Are you interested in making movies?
    Most Definitely
     Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
    Caked up
     What advice would you give to young men today who are suffering from injustices?
    Know thy self, you will become the law.
    What advice do you give to aspiring artists who are trying to get into the music industry?
    Make sure you have your business together first
    What keeps you motivated?
    The Love for Hip hop.
    If you could change your profession what would it be?
        Astronaut
    What do you think about the legalization of Marijuana?
     It's nothing wrong with it, it's not a drug.
